Many of us have been working from home due to COVID, and this could be the last year we were able to reopen our office to our staff. Having space in your home is important for productivity.
If you are moving to a new home, the first step is to determine which room or area of your new home will be your workplace. A few things to consider:
Do you have lighting?
Can you close the door? Does your current chair match your room?
Do you have a specialized office? You can set up your office in multiple places/little corners of your house. Large wardrobe, basement, living room, etc. Here are some great ways to organize your home office.
Immediately pack the supplies you need for the office, such as pens, paper, scissors, staples, and documents you need immediately on a long trip. Complete the “office setup box” and be the last person to be trucked in to be one of the first items migrants remove from the area. When newcomers arrive in their new home, set up desks, chairs, computers, printers, and work lights. If your bedroom is small, consider using a wardrobe to store items and boxes you don’t need right away. So your desktop won’t be cluttered. If that’s not an option, consider investing in boxes to minimize everything.
